Garage Door Repair in Toronto
Laneway garages, detached rears and tight access across the old city.
Call now
Garage door work in the old city is a different job from the suburbs. A great many Toronto garages are detached structures at the back of the lot, reached from a laneway, with a single door and often no power run out to them.
What we get called for in Toronto
Laneway garages take weather from every side and sit on older, sometimes settling slabs, so the two things we see constantly are doors that have gone out of square in their opening and bottom sections rusted from standing water. Access is the other Toronto-specific issue: many laneways will not take a van alongside the door, which is worth mentioning when you call so we arrive set up for it. On the semis and rowhouses that do have an attached or integral garage, the openings tend to be single-car and narrow, and headroom is often tight enough that a standard track will not fit — low-headroom track and a wall-mount opener solve it.
What we do here
- Broken springs — the bang, then a door that will not lift
- Openers — motor runs, door does not move
- Off-track doors and cables — crooked, jammed, stop using the opener
- General repair — rollers, hinges, seals, alignment
- Panel replacement — one dented section
- New doors — measured, fitted, old one taken away
- Commercial doors — shops, warehouses and dock doors
- Emergency callouts — stuck open, or a car trapped inside
Before you call
Two things make the visit faster. First, the symptom — the noise it made, whether the door moves at all, and whether the opener runs. Second, if you can see it, the make on the door or on the opener housing. With those we can usually name the likely cause and the price before anyone drives to Toronto.
Getting to you
Toronto is inside the area we cover, not a special trip. You will get a real answer on timing when you get in touch — if we cannot be there quickly we would rather say so than leave you waiting on a door that is stuck open.
